Man charged with owning two dogs involved in an attack on a Clinton man doesn’t show up at trial

The defendant who is accused of owning two dogs that attacked a Clinton man several weeks ago was a ‘no show’ in Clinton Magistrate Court this week.  

25 year old Ryan Blume was issued Four citations for each of his two dogs involved in the attack on July 2ndThe charges filed against Blume are having a dangerous dog, allowing a dog to run at large, no proof of rabies vaccination and no proof of city license.  The penalties include fines and possible jail sentence.

City attorney jeff farwell said five police officers and the victim were in court ready to proceed on Thursday but the defendant did not show up.

a warrant was issued for his arrest with a 2-thousand dollar bond.

Benjamin Nave was attacked in the 200 block of 16th Place and was seriously injured.

Clinton police had to shoot the dogs to end the attack and one was killed and the other wounded.
