Tentative report of meetings this week of area governmental bodies

The Clinton County Board, Clinton School Board & City Council meet this week-check out the details in the tentative report on governmental meetings

The Clinton County Board will be meeting Monday evening in Lost Nation this week.
The session will start at 7 o’clock at the Sacred Heart Church Hall in Lost Nation.
Among the items on the agenda is a public hearing for comments on a petition presented to the County Board to ban semi-truck compression braking on some of the roads in Lost Nation.

Also concerning Clinton County operations-the move will be made to the set up the DeWitt Annex Building this week. The new facility in DeWitt will be closed on August 28th and 29th for moving to the new location.
The office in DeWitt will be open for business on September 2nd at the Satellite Office.


The Clinton School Board meets in their Committee Of The Whole Session on Monday. At that meeting the board will hear from a developer who wants to purchase the old Jefferson and Washington building complex. The board will consider setting a public hearing at their September 8th meeting on the issue.
The meeting is at 5:30 at the Administrative Center.

The Central Community School Board has a special meeting on Monday. The board will have a goal setting work session at the meeting starting at 5 P-M at the High School Media Center

Tuesday is the regular meeting date for the Clinton City Council.
Among the business items are resolutions to support the C-H-I application for a grant that would help renovate the vacant Roosevelt School Building and that the city support funding gap for the project.
The council will also consider approval of the plan to resurface the road in Eagle Point Park.

During the Committee of the Whole session the council will receive a quarterly update from the Convention and Visitors Bureau and greet the new Library Director, Brad Wiles. The council will also hear about a proposal for the city to purchase the property at 80 25th Avenue North the location of the former Odeon that was destroyed by fire.

The council meets at 7 o’clock Tuesday evening at city hall.
