Clinton Police media release on an incident involving an individual with ‘violent thoughts’ (link included to official statement)

Clinton Police were involved with an individual overnight and this morning that claimed to be having violent thoughts.


In a statement issued by the Department-officers were called to the Mercy Medical Center at about 3:49 AM and officers were advised an individual was at the hospital reporting he was having violent thoughts. The person left the hospital before obtaining any treatment. Officers arrived and began searching for the individual. At about 4:07 the person was located in the 1700 block of Roosevelt and transported back to the hospital.

Later-at about 9:29 AM officers were dispatched to Mercy Medical Center in reference to the person brought in earlier in the morning. The hospital reported the person had left the hospital before treatment was completed. Officers searched the area around Mercy Medical Centr and located the person a short time later and they were transported back to the hospital.

As a precaution the hospital initiated a lock down procedure that was lifted after the hospital administration re-assessed the event.
