.TORRENTIAL RAINS OF 1 TO 3 INCHES…WITH ISOLATED AMOUNTS OF 5 INCHES…FELL OVERNIGHT IN PORTIONS OF EASTERN IOWA AND FAR WESTERN ILLINOIS. THESE RAINS HAVE SATURATED THE SOILS IN PARTS OF THE AREA…INCLUDING THE METRO AREAS OF CEDAR RAPIDS..IOWA CITY…MUSCATINE…AND THE QUAD CITIES. ANOTHER ROUND OF VERY HEAVY RAIN IS EXPECTED TONIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING. THIS NEXT ROUND OF STORMS WILL BRING THE THREAT FOR ANOTHER 2 TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN…WHICH MAY CAUSE FLASH FLOODING. FLOODING WILL BE MOST LIKELY IN LOCATIONS THAT HAVE SEEN HEAVY RAIN OVERNIGHT.

IN NORTHEAST IOWA…BUCHANAN… DELAWARE AND DUBUQUE.

* WIDESPREAD HEAVY RAINS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES ARE LIKELY TONIGHT…WHICH WILL FALL ON SATURATED SOIL FROM OVERNIGHT STORMS. LOCALLY HIGHER RAINFALL AMOUNTS ARE POSSIBLE.

* FLASH FLOODING IS ESPECIALLY POSSIBLE IN THE CEDAR RAPIDS…IOWA CITY…MUSCATINE AND QUAD CITIES METRO AREAS SINCE THESE LOCATIONS WERE IMPACTED BY HEAVY RAINS OVERNIGHT.
