The Mill Creek Expressway the topic of a meeting between Clinton officials and State DOT (*updated information)

A delegation from Clinton was among the groups meeting with the Iowa D-O-T leaders this week.

D-O-T Director Paul Trambino confirmed for KROS NEWS that he did meet with the Clinton group and the topic was the Mill Creek Expressway and the possible extension of the road from Main Avenue to Highway 67 and the related swap of the highway.
Trambino said he could not comment about the meeting except there was some dialogue about the project and they will look at it and follow-up on it.

KROS NEWS earlier reported about the idea that had been discussed with the staff. The proposal is for the state to take over the Mill Creek Expressway as the state Highway 67 and then the state would be responsible to pay for the extension and the state would then turn over the current Highway 67 using city streets to the city.

We have not received any comment on the meeting from Mayor Mark Vulich from an email contact yesterday afternoon.

*At least some council members have told KROS NEWS this morning they were not informed about the meeting*

You can read more about the discussion in our earlier story that we have linked in this story on our website – earlier story
