Tentative schedule of governmental meetings this week

Budget work is starting for many government bodies-‘Read More’ for the tentative schedule and topics

The Clinton County Board of Supervisors will begin budget meetings on Monday. The Board will meet with various county departments and organizations staring at 9 A-M. Among the budget areas on the meeting list are the County Auditor, Mental Health, Case Management and General Assistance.

The County Board will have their regular business session on Tuesday morning at 9:15.

The Clinton School Board meets in a regular session on Monday.
Among the items is the proposed acceptance of a ‘certificate of substantial completion’ of the Clinton High School renovation project.
The board will be asked to support the efforts of a group of citizens’ working to raise funds to add an auditorium at the new middle school.
The meeting is at 5:30 Monday at the Administration Center.


The Clinton City Council will start their budget meetings on Monday. The budget meetings will be held on Mondays over the next several weeks starting at 3 o’clock
The meeting on January 12th will be on the sewer and solid waste fund.

On Tuesday the Council will have their regular meeting. On the business agenda there will be public hearing on the Capital Improvement Plan. There will also be a resolution to support the Development Corporation’s five year funding initiative and implementation. The council supported the plan at the recent discussion session.
At the Committee of the Whole session the council consider zoning changes to allow residential use on first floor of downtown properties and a proposed re-organization of the Public Works and Recreation Departments.

A discussion of providing water service to the rail port was removed the agenda after initial distribution.  Also removed was an item about a ‘request for proposal’ for a real estate broker to help market the rail port industrial property.
The meeting will start at 7 P-M on Tuesday.

The Central School Board will meet Wednesday evening at the Middle School Media Center in DeWitt. The session will include an audit presentation at 5:30 and the business meeting at 6 P-M. The Central School Board will learn more about the Teacher Leadership Grant the district is receiving as one of the agenda items.


The Fulton City Council will hold a budget priority workshop on Monday at 5:30.

The Camanche City Council will start work on the budget for the next fiscal year at a meeting on Tuesday at
5 P-M at City Hall.
