Tentative Schedule of governmental meetings this week

Clinton School Board to learn proposed budget reductions, Clinton City Council gets back to the budget & holds a business meeting-‘read more’ for details on meetings this week

The Clinton Board has changed their usual Tuesday business meeting to Monday morning this week. The session will start at 10:15.
The Supervisors will continue budget meetings with departments and other organizations on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday during the week.

After cancelling last Monday’s budget session due to the snowstorm-the Clinton City Council will be back working on the budget this Monday.
The main topics for the meeting include the public safety areas.
The session starts at 3 o’clock Monday afternoon.


The Clinton School Board meets on Monday in a regular business session.
Among the items for the board is a presentation by Superintendent Deb Olson on a list of possible reductions to offset the district budget deficit by one-point-two-million dollars. Olson told K-R-O-S NEWS the proposals would be released at the board meeting Monday.
The proposal will come back to the board for consideration at the meeting on March 9th.
The Clinton School Board meeting is at 5:30 at the school’s Administrative Center.


There will be a business meeting and a discussion session for the Clinton City Council on Tuesday. Several of the action items during the business meeting relate to the process involved in loan agreements for ‘general obligation capital loan notes.’
During the Committee of the Whole session the council will also a receive a report on proposals seeking a collection agency to work on collecting some of the past due bills owed the city.  Removed from the agenda is a study about installing a traffic signal at 13th Avenue North and North 14th Street at the site of the new middle school.
The meeting will start at 7 P-M Tuesday.

Wednesday is the meeting day for the Central Community School Board.
The board will consider formal action to purchase the Clinton County Annex property located in DeWitt. The board will also consider a school calendar for the 2015-2016 school year.


The Clinton County Area Solid Waste Agency Board meets on Thursday evening.


Congressman Dave Loebsack will have a member of his staff in Clinton County for open office hours on Tuesday. The staff member will be at the Camanche city hall on Tuesday-February 10th from 9 to 10 AM and then at Clinton City Hall from 11 o’clock to noon.
Henry Marquard will be on hand to work with individuals who are having difficulty with a government agency, have suggestions for the Congressman or would just like to share their concerns. Members of the public are invited to attend.
