Clinton Area Ties Record Low

The Clinton area tied the record low of 9 degrees below zero for February 23rd also reached back in 1910. According to Official Weather Observer James Blaess, It was the 7th day this month we have been at or below zero. The normal for February is 3 days. For the winter season to date we have been at or below zero 15 times, the normal is 11. Blaess noted that despite the recent stretch of cold weather, last year was much worse with 33 days of at or below zero readings.
