The Illinois Department of Transportation has set plans that weather permitting, construction work on the US 30 bridge over the Mississippi River east of Clinton will begin on Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Interstate Maintenance Company will be washing the bridge during the next two weeks as part of the $75,000 contract to wash four Mississippi River bridges in the Whiteside and Rock Island County area.
Traffic will be restricted to one lane while the structure is cleaned. Drivers should be alert for vehicles stopped for the bridge work and the flaggers that will be controlling traffic flow.

In a seperate notice-work is also planned on the north bridge.
The Iowa 136 bridge over the Mississippi River (the north bridge) will be cleaned and painted. The Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT) has contracted with M & J Painting, Campbell, Ohio, for this work.

The bridge will not be closed during this work; the contractor will provide all traffic control. IDOT has not made a determination on whether or not the bridge sidewalk will be closed during this work.

The bridge cleaning is anticipated to last 10 working days. The bridge painting will begin no later than June 1, 2015. The entire project will last 120 working days, and must be completed by November 18, 2015. The contractor has informed IDOT he plans on working 6 to 10 hour days (probably Monday night through Sunday morning).

Please contact the IDOT, Davenport office, at 563.391.2750 with any questions.
