In conjunction with Older Americans Month, KROS Radio, 105.9 FM & 1340 AM and Mercy Medical Center in Clinton will sponsor the 25th Annual Plus 50 Living Fair on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 from 9 am – 1:30 pm at the Vista Grande, 2141 16th St. NW, in Clinton, IA. The purpose of this fair is to bring businesses and organizations together in one convenient location to provide information, demonstrations and fun for the area’s 50-plus population. Each booth will offer door prizes to be given away.
There will be over 40 different businesses and services on hand to discuss their operations with attendees. Businesses signed up for the event range from financial services, retirement residences, realtors, to home builders and more. KROS Account Executive, Gary Determan, said, “The type and variety of businesses varies each year which means that if you’ve been here before, you should come back and learn more.”
Special health screening opportunities will be offered by Mercy during the Plus 50 Living Fair. These are screening tests only and not designed to take the place of an exam with your physician. Prices for the tests include – Complete Lipid Profile (12 hour fast) – $15.00, Glucose only (2 hour fast) – $8.00, Lipid & Glucose (12 hour fast) – $20.00, PSA – $25.00, Iron – $7.50, A1C – $10, Blood Pressure – Free.
In addition, representatives will be on hand from a variety of Mercy health services including: Mercy Home Care & Hospice, Sleep Center, Surgical Services, Mercy Home Medical Equipment, Specialty Clinic, Radiation Oncology, Imaging, Mercy Health and Wellness, Mercy Wound Care, Therapy Services and Living Centers.

A document shredding day will be sponsored by Milestones Area Agency on Aging and Republic Services. The Iowa Lions Eye Bank will be collecting old eye glasses.
