A Trial over the release of Clinton City Council closed session records concerning the Emergency Medical Services Billing legal action has been taken off the court docket for further reviews.
The Case was filed by the Americans Civil Liberties Union of Iowa on behalf of a group of Clinton citizens. The case concerns the closed meetings held by the council that resulted in a settlement in the case with the city paying back the federal government 4-point-5 million dollars over ten years over the ambulance billing of Medicare.
The new delay was confirmed for KROS by the ACLU.
An ACLU spokesman said the city attorney is to submit all records to the court which will review to see what parts can be released. The organization said they are disappointed in the delay.
Clinton City Attorney Jeff Farwell told KROS news the action was removed from the court calendar as the two sides finalize a process for ‘information exchange.”
The case had been set for a trial later this month.
