Meetings This Week

(Clinton) -- Several area governmental bodies meet Monday-here is the tentative schedule of those meetings.

The Clinton County Board has their usual Monday morning business meeting starting at 9:15. Among the items on the agenda is a discussion about security provisions at the Clinton County Administration Building and Courthouse. The board may take action on the recommendations. That item is scheduled for 9:30.

At 9:45 the County Board is scheduled to hear about a regional marketing plan from Clinton Area Development Director Steve Ames and DeWitt Development Director Tammy Petsche. That item was rescheduled for last week’s agenda.

Members of the Fulton City Council will meet at 5:30 this evening (Monday) at City Hall. An executive session is on the agenda to discuss the purchase or lease of real estate property.

The River Bend School Board will conduct a budget hearing on the 2013 fiscal year budget starting at 6:30 this evening (Monday) in the District Office.

The regular meeting of the School Board will start immediately after the hearing is closed. The Board will be informed of the official enrollment for the year. The School Board is also to approve the budget document for 2013.

The Camanche School Board will meet at 7:30 this evening (Monday) at the Administration Center. Superintendent Tom Parker will report to the Board. There also be reports on the building enhancement project and refinancing general obligation bonds.

There will then be the annual reorganizational meeting of the Board, including the election of President and Vice President. There are a number of personnel actions on the agenda along with an open enrollment request.

The Camanche City Council will meet at 5 p.m. today (Monday) for a “work session”. The only item on the agenda for the work session is discussion of the 9th Street recreation trail.

The regular council meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at City hall. At the business meeting the council will be consider the status of the proposed 9th Street Recreational trail project. They also will consider a resolution establishing a policy for placing improvements in street right-of-way.

The council will also discuss the purchase of “City” shirts for City council members and will also consider the installation of a sidewalk at the Historical Museum.

The Eastern Iowa Community College District Board meets tonight (Monday) in Davenport in their business session. The board oversees the Clinton Community College, Scott and Muscatine Community Colleges.

The Clinton City Council’s Internal Operations Committee will meet at 9:30 Tuesday morning in the council chambers at City Hall. Committee members will be discussing the Employee Health Insurance Plan, a Wellness program, and the waiver of coverage.

A request from Councilmember John Rowland to discuss the sold waste collection system was added to the agenda and then has been removed from the agenda.

On Tuesday evening the Central School Board meets in DeWitt for a Strategic Planning Session. The meeting is at 5:30 pm at the DeWitt High School Media Center

The Clinton County Board of Health will be meeting at 7:30 a.m Thursday in their month session in the Board of Supervisor’s Office in the County Administration building.
