Enrollment at Clinton Community College dropped this fall, but CCC President Karen Vickers points out it’s still the third highest enrollment at the school.
The number of students enrolled on the official count day was 1,769 which was a drop of 203 students.
Enrollment at Clinton Community College increased nearly 29 percent in the fall of 2009 and nearly 14 percent in 2010 and another over eight percent in the fall of 2011. Vickers said after ‘incredible’ growth over the past couple of fall semesters they knew enrollment could not continue to grow at those levels and anticipated a change.
The CCC President added that 87 percent of the students enrolled are Iowa residents.
The Eastern Iowa Community College District-which includes Clinton Community College plus Scott and Muscatine Community Colleges had an overall drop in enrollment this fall. There are 8,474 students enrolled at the three colleges a drop of 1,363 students.
