Emergencye operator helps local couple
(Clintno) -- Couple has baby at home with aid of emergency operator on the phone
A Clinton County Communications Operator is being credited with helping a local couple deliver their baby at home.
Communications Director Eric Dau tells KROS NEWS that on September 13, 2012 Clinton County Communications Operator Marcia DeBoer answered a 9-1-1 call from Ray Mickelson reporting that his girlfriend Hailey Kitchen was in labor. Dau said DeBoer used the Emergency Medical Dispatch protocols and walked Ray and Hailey's mother Becky Kitchen through the delivery.
John James Mickelson was born at home while DeBoer was on the phone. Both mother and son are back home and healthy.
Ray and Hailey allowed DeBoer and her partners Operator Kay Bates and Lead Operator Kelly Hosette into their home to meet the baby recently.
