Meetings for this week

(Clinton) -- Abolishing the Clinton City Assessor's Office is on the agenda for the Clinton City Council's Rules and Regulations Committee consideration

The Clinton City Civil Service Commission meets today at 3. The panel will discuss the planned Safety Director’s Position that’s proposed to be established in the Fire Department to work with entire city staff.

Members of the Fulton City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. this evening (Monday) at City Hall. The council will consider a request for a Christmas Walk street closure. The council is also to consider approval of a marina loan.

The Clinton School District leaders will present their annual ‘state of the district report’ on Tuesday morning.

The Clinton City Council’s Rules and Regulations Committee meets Tuesday morning. That session will start at 9:30 at city hall. On the agenda for consideration are the repeal of several ordinances which would abolish the Clinton City Assessor’s office and combine that function with the county assessor’s operations.

The Camanche City Council will meet in a “work” session at 5 p.m. Tuesday at City hall. They will discuss how to fill a council vacancy. The council will also discuss the completion of Washington Boulevard and payments for the work.

The regular session of the Council will begin at 6 p.m. The council will consider a resolution approving the agreement between the City of Clinton and City of Camanche for replacement of a culvert under 21st Street and repealing a previous resolution. The council will also receive Eric Hosettes’s resignation from the City council effective December first; they also will consider the policy for filling the vacancy.

The Central Community School District Board meets Wednesday evening at the Administrative Office in DeWitt. The meeting will start at 6 p-m.

Due to the election he Clinton County Board of Supervisors will hold their usual weekly session on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. in the Board Office of the County Administration Building.

The Board of Supervisors will canvass the results of the November 6th election on Wednesday, November 14th starting at 9 a.m. with resolutions starting at noon.

The Clinton County Area Solid Waste Agency Board will meet at 6:30 Thursday at the Landfill (4286 220th Street). Executive director and education coordinator, Brad Seward, will update the Board on the Jackson County Waste fire and how it will affect the Clinton County Solid Waste Agency. Board members will also be updated on the wetlands mitigation credit purchase; the board will also discuss Thanksgiving Day hours.
