Man sentenced for seeking illegal sexual activies
(Clinton-area) -- A Nebraska man has been sentenced in U-S District Court in Davenport for ‘interstate travel to engage in illegal sexual activities’ that included coming to Clinton.
30 year old Robert Andrew Larson of Cozad, Nebraska was sentenced to 87 months in prison after pleading guilty to traveling across state lines for the purpose of engaging in illegal sexual activities with a minor. He was also ordered to serve five years supervised released and pay 100-dollars to the Crime Victim Fund.
Larson was accused of engaging in sexually explicit internet chats with an individual he believed was a 13 year old girl between February 13 and 16th this year. The 13 year old girl he chatted with was actually a law enforcement officer working in an undercover capacity. On February 16th, Larson traveled from a hotel in Moline, Illinois to Clinton for the purpose of engaging in illicit sexual conduct with the 13 year old girl. Upon his arrival in Clinton he was arrested.
The case was investigated by the U-S Secret Service-Quad Cities Cybercrimes Unit, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office and the Scott County Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by the U-S Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa.
