Meetings this week

(Clinton area) -- The tentative schedule of meetings this week include the Clinton School Board and City Council-here is the schedule of meetings this week that we have on the schedule so far.

The Clinton County Board has the usual Monday morning business session starting at 9:15. The meeting will be held at the County Administration Building

The Clinton city Capital Improvement Program Committee will be meeting Monday at 3 at city hall. They will review the capital improvement program for the next couple of budget years.

Monday is the Clinton School Board’s Committee of the Whole session. It will be held at 5:30 at the school’s Administrative Center.

The board will consider awarding the bid for the new field turf at the football stadium. The cost is being paid by the athletic boosters organization.

The board will also meet with area legislators and discuss their concerns and priorities with area state representative Mary Wolfe and area state senator Rita Hart.

The regular business meeting of the Clinton City Council is Tuesday evening at seven o’clock. On the business agenda is consideration of accepting the resignation of Jeffrey Horne as City Administrator. That resignation came after the council met with Horne and asked him to resign. At the time Horne had been on a personal leave for several weeks. The requested resignation means Horne would receive six months salary and health insurance coverage according to the employment contract. The salary would be paid on the regular city pay schedule.

The committee of the whole session topics are subject to the acceptance of the City Administrator. The council is scheduled to discuss the process for selecting a new city administrator and assistance in the budget process and on-going projects for the Acting City Administrator.

The city council’s City Services Committee is scheduled to meet on Wednesday-the 28th At 1:30. Among the agenda items is a report on a staffing study of the Clinton Police Department, also a topic on how to limit the train horns at rail crossings in the community and a discussion on the future direction of the marina with the council planning to cancel a renewal of the lease agreement with the current operator.

The Riverbend School Board has a special meeting on Wednesday. Among the short agenda for the board of the Fulton, Illinois based school district are plans to discuss Advanced Placement courses, Special Education programs. The meeting is at 6:30 at the district office. Following that meeting the Riverbend School District policy committee will be meeting at 8 P-M to review a list of policies for the district.
