Ready for next step in city administrator hiring
(Clinton) -- Council approved resolution on how to proceed in finding a new city administrator goes into effect without the mayor's signature
A resolution adopted by the Clinton City Council to hire the city’s Human Resource Consultant-Paul Greufe-to lead the effort to find a new city administrator has gone into effect without the mayor’s signature.
Mayor Mark Vulich had stated that he was not sure about supporting the resolution and whether he would let it go into effect or possibly veto it.
Fourteen days after passage the resolution automatically goes into effect-if it is not signed.
City Attorney Jeff Farwell-(Thursday)-told KR0S news that with the holiday the 14th day was the 26th and the resolution was not signed.
Farwell says that means the resolution is in effect as passed by the council on December 11th.
Greufe made a presentation at the last council meeting on December 18th on his recommendation for a process for the city to follow in hiring a new city administrator. If the council wanted to hire him as the ‘search firm’ for the job, Greufe said the cost would be about 22-thousand dollars.
Greufe is expected to attend the January 8th council meeting for further discussion with the council on how to proceed, because at that time the council would know whether the resolution was in effect of if there had been a veto and action would be needed to over-ride it.
Jeffrey Horne resigned from the post, at the council’s request, several weeks ago after being on a what was described as a personal leave for a few weeks.
