Meetings this week

(Clinton) -- City Council continues work on city administrator search process & Clinton School Board considers bids for new middle school among the topics of meetings this week

The Clinton City Council meets in a special session this morning (Monday) to work on the search process for a new city administrator. The council will meet with the city’s HR Consultant Paul Greufe to review the process and his proposed contract. He would charge the city about $22,000 according to documents submitted earlier.

This morning’s meeting will include a discussion on selecting members for a search committee from among 25 suggested names and on the interim city administrator the council has supported and that person would be an internal candidate according to last week’s vote.

The meeting is at 9 A-M at City Hall.

The Clinton County Board has their regular Monday business meeting at 9:15 at the Administration Building.

Departmental budget presentations will begin today.

Also today the County Compensation Board meets at 5:30 at the Administration Building. That committee recommends pay levels for elected officials and forwards those recommendations to the County Board for consideration.

Budget presentations will also be held on Wednesday plus a budget work session.

The Clinton School Board will consider bids for the new middle school construction when they meet today. There will be a public hearing on the plans to start the meeting at 5:30 and bids could be awarded later in the meeting. The total project bids are just under 21-million dollars for the project.

The meeting is being held at the Eagle Heights Elementary School.

The Board will also consider approval of the retirement of sixteen employees under an early retirement plan.

The Riverbend School Board has a couple of meetings this week- the board will meet at 6:30 this evening (Monday) in the Fulton District Office. The agenda indicates this will be a closed session for the purpose of evaluating Superintendent, Dr. Robert “Chuck” Holliday. Any action taken during the closed session will be reported when the Board returns to open session.

Members of the River Bend School Board will meet at 6:30 Tuesday evening. The board will be discussing financial planning and personnel. This will be conducted in a closed session, with any action taken during the closed session reported when the school board returns to open session.

The Clinton City Council’s Internal Operations Committee will meeting Tuesday morning. On the agenda is the continuing discussion about the Humane Society contract and alternatives. Also on the agenda is the issue of a chain of command in the absences of the City Administrator and a plan from Finance Director Jessica Kinser for staffing to handle utility billing.

That meeting is Tuesday at 9:30 A-M at city hall.

The Northeast School Board meets on Tuesday at 6 P-M for their business session. Among the actions of the board is to meet in a closed session for legal issues.
