.A STORM SYSTEM DEVELOPING IN THE PLAINS WILL MOVE NORTHEAST ACROSS THE MIDWEST SUNDAY AND SUNDAY NIGHT. WARM AIR FLOWING NORTH WILL RIDE UP OVER THE COLD SURFACE AIR PRODUCING FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET. THE INFLOW OF MOISTURE IS EXPECTED TO RESULT IN SIGNIFICANT ICE ACCUMULATIONS... ESPECIALLY ALONG AND NORTH OF HIGHWAY 30.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN QUAD CITIES HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WATCH... WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY MORNING THROUGH LATE SUNDAY NIGHT.

* TIMING...SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN WILL BEGIN SUNDAY MORNING AFTER SUNRISE. THE PRECIPITATION WILL TURN TO FREEZING RAIN LATER IN THE DAY. BY EVENING THE PRECIPITATION WILL BE MIXED RAIN OR FREEZING RAIN UNTIL THE PRECIPITATION ENDS SUNDAY NIGHT.

* SNOW OR SLEET ACCUMULATIONS...UP TO 1 INCH SUNDAY MORNING.

* ICE ACCUMULATIONS...AROUND ONE QUARTER OF AN INCH.

* TEMPERATURES...AROUND 30.

* IMPACTS...SIGNIFICANT TRAVEL PROBLEMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP DURING THE DAY SUNDAY. THE POSSIBILITY DOES EXIST THAT THAT THIS WATCH MAY BE UPGRADED TO AN ICE STORM WARNING.

A WINTER STORM WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT SNOW...SLEET ... AND/OR ICE ACCUMULATIONS THAT WOULD SERIOUSLY IMPACT TRAVEL. MONITOR LATER FORECASTS FOR UPDATES.
