The Clinton County Board has their usual Monday morning business session today (Monday). It starts at 9:15 at the County Administration Building
In addition the business items the Supervisors will continue meeting in budget sessions with the various departments.

The Clinton City Council meets this afternoon in a budget session at 2 p.m. The meeting is starting earlier than the original schedule due to a mix up in posting the agenda for a meeting last week caused that session to be cancelled and some of the items rescheduled for today’s meeting.
They will be discussing transit operations and equipment and then culture and recreation in the General Fund; this will include Recreation, grounds and facilities and the Library. Discussion will also take place on Community and Economic Development.
They will be discussing Public Safety including police operations, the police facility, animal control, fire operations, EMS/ambulance service and enforcement of the Fire Code.
The council will be discussing Marina Operations and the Amenities Building as part of the session.
The next workshop will be held Monday, February 18th at 3 p.m.

Clinton School Superintendent Deb Olson will be updating the School Board on a deficit of 866-thousand-dollars due to declining enrollment and the increased costs of doing business. Olson is to make recommendations to the board during the Monday night session at 5:30 p.m. at Whittier Elementary School to develop a balanced budget for the 2013-2014 school year.

The Clinton City Council meets in their business session on Tuesday night at 7. Among the items on the business agenda is the council’s consideration of over-riding the mayor’s veto of the approval of a contract with the Humane Society and a committee to review ideas to reduce the cost of that contract. The council at the previous meeting approved the contract with an increase in the subsidy to the Humane Society from 65-thousand dollars a year to 120-thousand dollars a year. Last week Mayor Mark Vulich vetoed the resolution. It was passed 5 to 2. The resolutions have been placed on the agenda for consideration.
The council will also received the audit report for the fiscal year ending June 30th of 2012.
The committee of the whole session includes a budget presentation from the airport. There will be a request from the YWCA for financial support for the domestic violence and sexual assault services.
The developers hoping to renovate the Wilson Building in an apartment complex will seek a letter of commitment and the requests for the city’s financial support will be outlined.
The council will also hear a report from Matt Prescott-the operator of the riverfront Candlelight Restaurant on his plans for operating the marina. The City Services committee is recommending his proposal after proposals were sought and interviews conducted by the committee last week.
There are several other issues also on the agenda such as the Police Department’s storage needs and a request for a commitment to build a new lab at the Waste Water Treatment Plant.

Members of the Camanche City Council will meet at 6 Tuesday evening at City Hall. The council is to approve a resolution setting the date and time for a public hearing on the proposed 2014 budget.
The council will hear a presentation from the Gateway Coalition for a Drug Free Community Grant.

The Central School Board will discuss proposed general budget reductions among the items on the agenda during a meeting Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Administrative Center in DeWitt.

The Northeast School Board will discuss an increase in the Physical Plant and Equipment Levy during a Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. in the Elementary Library. They also will consider having a referendum on issuing a 7-and-a-half million dollar bond issue for a building project.

The Clinton County Area Solid Waste Agency Board meets on Thursday evening at 6:30.
