(Clinton) -- The Clinton Regional Development Corporation announced late Friday morning that tenants have been found for the Clinton railport and a current business is expanding.
RailOne, headquartered in Germany, will build a new manufacturing facility for the production of concrete rail ties in the Lincolnway Rail and Air Park located along the west side of Clinton along highway 30. There will 62 direct jobs with an impact of 20-million dollars.
Nevada Railroad Materials, based in Utah, will work in connection with Rail One supplying railroad cars to the company and recycling old, wood railroad ties. This will be an addition of 30 jobs. Mark Bush is chairman of Data Dimensions, which has its home base in Janesville, Wisconsin and has been on Manufacturing Court in Clinton. He says the firm, which is private, is in great shape. Data Dimensions will build a new, 26-thousand square foot facility in the Lyons Business and Technology Park; the company plans to add 130 jobs to its current workforce.
Data Dimensions will start its project on April 8th. The Clinton City Council will be discussing as a “committee of the whole” the projects during it’s Tuesday evening session, according to Mayor Vulich.
