Some changes have been proposed in the agreement between the city of Clinton and Clinton County about the funding the County helped provide to establish the railrport.
In late 2009 the county agreed to issue up to six million dollars in a bond issue to help the city build the railport with the proposal for the city to repay those funds.
The County Board met with representatives of the city and Development Corporation about some changes the city was proposing to the agreement.
One of the major changes is amend the section requiring the city repay the county the six million dollars and instead use those funds to reinvest in infrastructure for the site.
That work would be overseen by a Management Committee. That committee is the other major change in the proposal.
Clinton County Attorney Mike Wolf recommended the County Board hold a public hearing on the proposed amendments. No date was set yet for that hearing.
