Meetings this week

(Clinton) -- Here is a tentative schedule of governmental meetings in the area this week

The Clinton County Board meets in their usual Monday morning business session. The meeting begins at 9:15. Among the items on the agenda is a discussion on the amendments being proposed in the agreement with the city for the county’s assistance in funding the rairlport industrial park. That item will be considered at 9:45 am. The changes proposed would have the county more involved in the discussions and development of the park and re-invest the county funds in the park instead of paying back the county.

The Clinton School Board meets Monday – with the meeting at the new time of 5:30. The board decided to move the meeting time for their business meetings to 5:30 and today’s meeting is at the new Administration Center – or former Harding School building.

The board will consider a contract for the technology for the new innovative classroom.

On Tuesday morning the Clinton City Council Rules and Regulations Committee will be meeting. Among the items on their agenda is a discussion about parking around the high school. At an earlier meeting the committee heard about some complaints from some residents around the school about the students parking in their neighborhood. The committee will also review with the Noise Ordinance and the Animal Protection and Control Ordinance.

The committee meeting is scheduled to start at 9:30 Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday night the Clinton City Council meets in their regular meeting. Only a few items are on the business agenda for the meeting.

On the committee of the whole meeting the council will discuss the long term control plan, storm water utility and green building procedures for limiting water runoff. Also on on the agenda is a discussion on the location for the sewer line for the new Clinton Middle School.

On Wednesday the Clinton City Plan commission meets. At the 4 pm meeting the commission will consider an alley vacation in the 1600 block of 14th Avenue South and rezoning at Eagle Point Estates.

On Wednesday the Central School District Board meets in a business session. That meeting is at 6 p-m at the Administrative Office in DeWitt.

Also on Wednesday the Riverbend School Board’ Negotiation Committee meets in a session planned to be closed for contract negotiation discussions.

The Clinton County Area Solid Waste Agency Board meets Thursday evening. That meeting at 6:30 pm at the CCASWA office
