Natural Gas Rate Hike Hearing Set
(Clinton) -- The Iowa Utility Board will be conducting a rate hearing in Clinton this coming week concerning a natural gas rate increase request filed by Alliant Energy.
The public comment session will be held starting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Clinton Community College Auditorium (1000 Lincoln Boulevard). Alliant filed a rate increase request on May 25th, That proposed increase would generate about 14-point-8 million dollars in annual revenue, a 5-point-6 percent increase. Under Iowa law, an temporary interim rate increase request of 6-point-8 million dollars (3-point-3 percent) went into effect June 4th.
The public is encouraged to attend the Tuesday night session and listen to the company officials and ask questions. The Board’s final decision on this case is expected by March 25, 2013.
