(Clinton) -- Today's weather broke a record
We broke the record for today-Clinton area weather observer Jim Blaess says it reached 101 degrees at mid-afternoon. That broke the record for July 18th of 100 set in 1930.
Blaess says there have been 10 days so far this month with 90 or above temperatures and another 3 that it has 100 or about – making 13 of the 18 days above that mark.
The 13 days this month of 90 and above is second behind July 1988 when there were 16 days in the entire month.
The normal for July is 6 days of 90 or above.
Blaess also said that on May 7th there was about one inch of rain and since that time – 72 days – there has been a total of just of 2 inches of rain officially.
