Meetings for the week of 8/13

(Clinton) -- Here is the tentative schedule of meetings for various governmental bodies this week

The Clinton County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing at their meeting this morning (Monday) on a proposed amendment on the Railport 28E agreement. The hearing will be held at 10 a.m.

The Board meeting will begin at 9:15 a.m. in the Board Office of the County Administration building.

Starting at 9:45 a.m. the Board will discuss with Michelle Cullen Blue Zone Office space. Then it is the public comment period on the proposed changes in the agreement with the city on the county participation in the railport.

Then starting at 10:30 a.m. the Board will discuss security provisions at Clinton County buildings.

The Clinton Traffic Study Committee meets Monday at 4:45 at city hall. The City Council’s Rules and Regulation Committee referred parking concerns in the neighborhood of Clinton High School and near Eagle Heights School and both of those issues on the agenda for consideration.

Monday is the regular business session of the Clinton School Board. They will meet at 5:30 at the Clinton High School Library.

Royal River King marching band director Josh Hahn will detail for the school board the recent performing trip to Florida.

The architect and construction manager for the Renovation project at Clinton High School, phases 1 and 2, will be reviewed.

Athletic director, Gary Leuders, will provide an update on the Clinton High School “Wall of fame” project.

The School Board will set the goals for the 2012-2013 school year. Superintendent Deb Olson will also list her goals for the coming school year.

The Clinton City Council meets Tuesday evening in a business session. The meeting will start at the regular time of 7 pm – BUT it will be held at the Eagle Point Park Lodge due to problems with the air conditioning units at city hall.

A public hearing will be held concerning the plans, specifications, form of contract and estimate of cost for the Lincoln Way Railpark Project Phase 2 which is the track extension into the Railpark. Once the public hearing is closed, a resolution awarding the bid on the project will be awarded.

The public hearing concerning the review of the Animal Protection and Control Ordinance has been postponed until August 28th when the council expects to be able to meet at city hall.

The council will also consider approval of a program allowing the city to collect social security numbers which would be part of a program to be able to collect past due sewer bills.

The Clinton City Council will meet as a “Committee of the Whole” following the regular council meeting.

City Plan Commission meets on Wednesday – that session is at 4 pm at Clinton City Hall. One of the items on their agenda is an update on the Comprehensive Plan.

The Central Community School Board meets on Wednesday at 6 pm at the Administrative Center. Board members will receive an update on construction in the district as one of the items on the agenda.
