Merger to Become Easton Valley Approved
(Jackson County) -- Voters approve the merger of Preston and East Central to become the new Easton Valley School District.
The unofficial results from the Preston District, 776 yes votes to 121 no votes. The East central vote was much closer, 617 yes votes to 597 no votes. The next step will be a special election in January to pick School Board members who will hire a superintendent to begin setting up the district. Easton Valley must be open by August 2013.
