Marina operator may change
(Clinton) -- Clinton City Council wants to develop new contract for a marina operator and look at city management of the operation
The city will begin looking for a new contract for a marina operator. The Council voted last night (Tuesday) to not renew the contract with the Skipper-Bud firm for another five years. The contract was designed with the renewal option after five years.
The council wanted to look at a five year contract with an annual renewal and investigate what it would take for the city to operate the marina.
The council indicated the first four years of the contract had not gone as they had hoped, but in the last year with a new manager the operations and communications improved.
The council decided the only way to update the contract and make changes was to not renew it and seek proposals.
The issue will be handled by the council’s City Services Committee.
