Meetings this week

(Clinton area) -- The tentative schedule of meetings this week includes the Clinton Council with the a downtown rehabilitation project, the Humane Society and Administrator search on the agenda

The Clinton County Board of Supervisors will hold their regular business session at 9:15 today (Mon) in the Board Office of the County Administration building.

Starting at 9:30 a.m. the Board will conduct the first reading of the peddlers, solicitors and transient merchants ordinance.

Starting at 1 p.m. there will be a Board work session concerning a space needs assessment for E-911 services. Taking part will be Communications workers, representatives of the Sheriff’s Department, Informational Technology, and Emergency Management.

Members of the Fulton City Council will meet at 5:30 this evening (Monday) at City Hall. They will receive a report from the Retail Development Group along with other business items.

On Tuesday morning the Clinton City Council’s Rules and Regulations Committee has a meeting with one items on the agenda. The item concerns an electric operation franchise agreement with ITC Midwest.

On Tuesday the Clinton Public Library has their regular monthly business meeting at 5:15 at the main library.

The Clinton City Council’s business meeting is Tuesday at 7 P-M at city hall.

The business meeting has a few items on the agenda including a new list of city council appointments from the mayor. At the previous meeting the council rejected the appointment list from Mayor Mark Vulich – with no comments offered from the council.

During the Committee of the Whole Session the council will hear a presentation on a potential rehabilitation project on the Wilson Building in downtown Clinton. Also on the agenda is another presentation from Human Resource consult Paul Greufe on the search for a city administrator. The council voted to use Greufe to at least lead the start of the process and that measure went into effect without the mayor’s signature due some of his concerns.

Also on the committee of the whole agenda is the Humane Society Contract and a request to nearly double the city’s support of the operations from the current $65,000 to $120,000 a year and what alternatives the city may have.

The Camanche City Council meets Tuesday. On their agenda is consideration of increasing fee for boarding animals at the Humane Society. The Camanche council meets at 6 P-M at city hall.

The Central School Board meets Wednesday at 6 P-M at the administrative office in DeWitt.

The Clinton County Board of Health meets Thursday morning at 7:30 at the Clinton County Administrative Center

The Clinton County Solid Waste Agency Board meets on Thursday at 6:30. The Clinton Chamber of Commerce Legislative Preview Breakfast is Wednesday morning with local legislators invited to attend to discuss the issues of the upcoming session.
