First Degree Murder Conviction Affirmed
(Clinton) -- Iowa Court of Appeals upholds conviction of Jason Tate in death of Kelsey Stahl.

The first degree murder conviction in a Clinton case has been upheld by the Iowa Court of Appeals.
Jason Tate was convicted in Clinton County District Court in the shooting death of Kelsey Stahl in a Clinton apartment in December 2010.
Tate argue to the Iowa Court of Appeals the killing was accidental and the trial court erred in admitting certain evidence about the Stahl. Also Tate raises these issues as an ineffective assistance of counsel claim.
The Appeals Court denied all of Tate’s claims about the case and affirmed the conviction
He had been sentenced to life in prison without parole on the first degree murder conviction.
