Make Two Unlike Things Shimmer Together
a workshop for writers and non-writers
On September 23rd from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
In our everyday life we see/read/hear unlike things compared (a metaphor). Poet Kim Addonizio says metaphors create an energy field as “the shimmer.” In this workshop, we will look at different types of metaphors & craft some.
Salvatore Marici is an Ice Cube Press author with three collections of poetry (Fermentations; Swish, Swirl & Sniff; Mortals, Nature, and their Spirits). His poetry has appeared in many magazines & anthologies. He was the 2010 Midwest Writing Center Poet-in-Resident, has won poetry contests and judged writing contests. Marici served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Guatemala and is a civil servant agronomist retiree.
