Clinton Fire Department units were dispatched to 2513 Garfield Street for a structure fire at 0038. CFD responded with two Engines, one Ladder truck, a command vehicle, three ambulances, and fourteen firefighters. Fulton Fire was dispatched on automatic aid with an Engine and four personnel.<\/p>\n
Crews arrived to find a one-and-one-half story single-family residential dwelling with heavy fire coming from multiple windows and doors on the first floor. Crews made an aggressive interior attack using multiple hose lines knocking a majority of the fire down within twenty minutes. All residents were able to evacuate the building before crews arrived. One cat was successfully rescued from the fire building by firefighters. Fire crews faced many challenges during overhaul to include multiple void spaces within the home. Crews remained on scene for several hours hitting hot spots and investigating.<\/p>\n
Crews were assisted on scene by Clinton County Communications, Clinton Police, Fulton Fire, and Alliant Energy. The fire is under investigation at this time. There were no injuries during the incident. No additional information is available at the time of the press release.<\/p>\n
MDA Boot Block Clinton Firefighters Local 609<\/p>\n
The Clinton Firefighters Local 609 will be collecting monetary donations to \u201cFill the Boot\u201d for the MDA Boot Block again this year. The events support more than 300,000 families nationwide living with muscular dystrophy, ALS, and over 40 related neuromuscular diseases. <\/p>\n
The fundraising event will take place at the intersections of 13th Avenue North & North 4th Street and 13th Avenue North & North 3rd Street from 8:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. on the following dates:<\/p>\n
