Local American Red Cross volunteers responded to a home fire on the 700 block of Locust Street in Clinton, Iowa Monday afternoon.. The team of Red Cross volunteers helped coordinate assistance in the form of food, shelter, clothing and emotional support due to fire damage to the home. The Red Cross is assisting 2 adults and 4 children who lost their home and belongings.
Two Clinton School busses were involved in accidents on Monday. Superintendent Deb Olson says there were no injuries to anyone in either of the accidents.
There was a record low this morning. Clinton area weather observer Jim Blaess says it was 23 this morning and broke the record for October 25th of 24 set in 1966 and tied in 1987.
Blaess also said this is first time the temperatures have been in the 20’s this month.
