“Holidays with the Symphony,” an annual concert with the Clinton Symphony Orchestra and featuring RiverChor, will be presented at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, December 10 in Vernon Cook Theater at Clinton High School.
Conductor Brian Dollinger has selected festive music of Christmas as well as secular winter season music. RiverChor will join the orchestra in singing many of the selections.
Seasonal music will include Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride,” selections from Tchiakovsky’s “Nutcracker Suite,” music from the motion picture hits “The Polar Express” and “Frozen,” and a set of music entitled “Christmas on Broadway.”
Christmas music includes a Manheim Steamroller arrangement of “O Holy Night,” and the “Star Carol” by composer John Rutter and four familiar choruses from Handel’s “Messiah” with the voices of RiverChor
The orchestra, chorus, and audience will participate in a carol sing-along, which has become a traditional closer at this seasonal concert.
Tickets for the concert are $15 for adults and all students are admitted free of charge. Tickets are available at the door, or in advance at Tegeler Music in Clinton, Fitzgerald Pharmacy in Morrison, and Grummert’s Hardware in Sterling.
