The Education Committee of Fulton’s De Immigrant Windmill Area will be hosting its fourth annual baking competition. The Bake Off will be held Friday, September 16th with all entries sold at the Windmill Cultural Center on Saturday, September 17th. Winners will be announced on Saturday.
This year’s competition will feature both adult and children entries. The entry fee for children is $5. Each child will receive 2 ½ cups of fine wheat flour and a basic cookie recipe. The basic ingredients must be used in the final product plus any additional ingredients the child wishes.
The entry fee for adults is $10. Each adult will receive a bag of windmill flour of their choice. There will be eight entry categories awarded first and second prizes. The categories are the eight different types of flour ground at de Immigrant Windmill. They are wheat; fine, cracked or unsifted; rye: fine, unsifted or cracked; buckwheat; and corn.
