The Power of Positive Aging Seminar Offered in the Sauk Valley

Event Details

With over 50 million Americans aged 62 and older, older adults are prime targets for financial exploitation both by persons they know and trust and by strangers.  Financial exploitation has been called “the crime of the 21st century.”

“Money Smart for Older Adults” will be offered on Thursday, January 24th at 1:00 p.m. at the Mt. Carroll Public Library, 208 North Main Street, Mt. Carroll.  This engaging session will discuss types of financial exploitation, review tips for recognizing scams, provide strategies for avoiding identify theft, and deliver tips on how to prepare financially for future health problems and disasters.  This workshop is free and open to the public.  For more information, visit the University of Illinois Extension event calendar online at go.illinois.edu/clw call 815-632-3611.
