VISION 8 PLANNING FOR 2019 PROJECTS SEASON

Event Details

Vision 8 will meet Thursday, March 14, at 7:00 PM at the Chamber of Commerce conference room.  The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss proposals and begin to plan the upcoming 2019 projects season.

Everyone with fresh ideas for community service projects, or ways to improve on Vision 8’s past efforts, is invited.   Mission Statement:  Vision 8 is a group of volunteers who are seeking to build a community of positivity and forward momentum in order to give our city a brighter future!

Vision 8 started out as a volunteer group to help residents who for some reason were unable to take care of simple maintenance and care of their properties.  It became wider than that, and past projects have included improvements to several parks, Riverfront in particular, cleanup and improvement of tiny Locust Park for that neighborhood’s children, and restoring the sports mural on the 10th Ave /South 10th Street retaining wall in cooperation with the CCC Art Department instructor and students.  V-8’s last 2018 project was cleanup around the Ericksen Center pond and surrounding area in cooperation with the Clinton Middle  School Leo’s Club students, and City of Clinton Parks and Recreation staff, .

Basic requirements for Vision 8 volunteers are ideas for community improvements, energy, a few hours to work on projects with others each month.  The reward is seeing the difference a little thought, time, and effort can make in our community and sometimes, in others’ lives.  Vision 8 is open to cooperate with other organizations in accomplishing mutual goals.

Meetings are held once a month, promptly beginning at 7 PM and ending at 8 PM.  Projects are scheduled as needed and time allows.
