Vehicle reported stolen more than a decade ago is located in local lake(Sheriff’s Dept. Statement & image)

On 8/2512027 at approximately 1150 hours, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office responded to Lake Killdeer, which is located at the NE corner of Hwy 30 and 330th Ave, rural Dewitt. Upon arrival deputies met with a Clinton County Conservation Employee who advised a fisherman located what appeared to be a submerged vehicle in the lake through a fish finder on his boat. The vehicle was located approximately 30 yards from shore, in about 15 feet o fwater. The vehicle was removed from the lake by a tow truck.

The vehicle was a 1993 GMC Sierra truck, which had been reported stolen on 7 /26/2O10 from a residence in the area. The case remains under investigation and anyone with information about the motor vehicle theft or the vehicle being driven into the lake, are asked to call the Clinton County Sheriff s Office.
