The local unemployment rate dropped from July to August.

In Clinton County the rate dropped from 5.1 percent in July to 4.9 percent in August.  All factors – the workforce, employed and unemployed all declined.

The Clinton County rate a year ago in August 2020 was 6.5 percent.

The rate in the city also declined with all factors also dropping.  The unemployment rate in Clinton was 5.7 percent in August compared to 6.1 percent in July.
