New Census Prompts Some Clinton City Council Wards & Precincts

Some small adjustments are needed in Clinton’s wards and precincts due to the recent census.  Each of the four wards include two precincts and City Administrator Matt Brooke says most of the change is within the precincts not the overall ward boundaries to even out the population in each precinct and each ward.  He says the proposal keeps each of the population levels within the allowed parameters.

Brooke said there are some changes in the ward lines between Third and Fourth and some precinct adjustments within the wards and little adjustments in the First and Second Wards.

Brooke says some big maps to better show the changes would be made and those will be made available to the public.

The Council set a public hearing on the proposal for the November 23rd council meeting.
