Understanding Pushout

At alarming rates, Black girls, and other girls of color, experience discriminatory, and other unfair treatment in schools. They are suspended, expelled, referred to law enforcement, and arrested on school campuses at rates that far exceed the public school population as a whole, and far exceed their white female peers. The documentary, “Pushout” illustrates how this paves the way toward trafficking and other forms of violence. Please join us for a free screening of the film, followed by a Q&A session. Local law enforcement officers will speak on the topic as well.
