DeWitt Chamber & Development Company and Grow Clinton to Host Saturday Legislative Coffees for Community The 2026 Legislative Session has begun, and soon so will the Grow Clinton County Legislative Coffee events. These events are hosted by the DeWitt Chamber & Development Company and Grow Clinton as opportunities for Clinton County community members to interact with area state elected officials.
Held monthly, on one Saturday every month., the DeWitt Chamber & Development Company hosts at 11 am at the DeWitt Community Center located at 512 10th Street in DeWitt, with Grow Clinton’s coffee is hosted at Camanche City Hall, located at 818 7th Avenue at 9am. The coffee features a moderated discussion with the state elected officials: Representatives Tom Determann and Norlin Mommsen and Senator Mike Zimmer are in attendance.
The first coffee is on Saturday January 24 with the remaining being held February 28, March 14, and April 18. Each session will last approximately one hour. Both events are in-person, with the 9 am Camanche based coffees also being livestreamed on the City of Camanche’s YouTube channel. Members of the public are encouraged to attend, listen, and ask questions on issues impacting the community. “Issues and topics addressed by our elected officials impact every resident, business, and community in our state. These Legislative Coffee events provide an opportunity for our elected officials to hear directly from their constituents, better informing them of how local individuals and businesses feel about topics and bills being discussed at the Capital” said Angela Rheingans, President & CEO, DeWitt Chamber & Development Company.
The legislative session is a vitally important time “We thank our elected officials for dedicating their entire Saturday morning to these coffees. Having the two coffees back-to-back provides everyone in the county an opportunity to attend and ask their representatives questions on issues that matter to them,” said Matt Parbs, VP of Community & Economic Development, Grow Clinton.
