Structure Fire 2616 West Stockwell Lane

Clinton Fire Department units were dispatched to 2616 West Stockwell Lane for a barn on fire. CFD responded with one Engine, one Tanker, a command vehicle, and one ambulance. The remaining on-duty crews were on other emergency calls delaying a full alarm assignment. Camanche Fire was dispatched on automatic aid with a RIT team. Fulton Fire responded with a tanker for mutual aid. A CFD ladder truck was able to respond after leaving another scene.

Crews arrived to find a pole barn structure to the rear of this address with moderate smoke showing from the eaves and some flames showing. Due to the location of the building from the roadway, extra hose had to be deployed to reach the structure. Also, there are no fire hydrants in this area so water had to be hauled using tankers. A call-back for additional personnel was made bringing in off-duty firefighters to assist with covering the city and additional chief officers to the scene. Crews were able to make an aggressive interior fire attack and knock the fire down within 15 minutes of arrival. Crews remained on scene for about two hours performing overhaul and investigation.

Crews were assisted on scene by Clinton County Communications, Clinton Police, Camanche Fire, Fulton Fire, Clinton Public Works, and Alliant Energy. The fire is under investigation at this time. There were no injuries during the incident. No additional information is available at the time of the press release.
