Clinton Fire Department units were dispatched to 559 4th Avenue North for a garage on fire at 0445. CFD responded with two Engines, one Ladder truck, a command vehicle, two ambulances, and eleven firefighters. Fulton Fire was dispatched on automatic aid with a RIT team but was cancelled before arriving.
Crews arrived to find a single-car garage to the rear of this address with moderate smoke showing from the eaves and some flames showing. Crews were able to make a quick and aggressive interior fire attack to contain the fire to the garage with no damage to surrounding buildings. The fire building sustained moderate fire and smoke damage. Crews remained on scene for about an hour performing overhaul and investigation.
Crews were assisted on scene by Clinton County Communications, Clinton Police, and Alliant Energy. The fire is under investigation at this time. There were no injuries during the incident. No additional information is available at the time of the press release.
