Clinton County Activates Extreme Temperature Plan Due to Dangerous Cold

CLINTON – The Davenport National Weather Service has notified local officials of Dangerously Cold conditions beginning Monday, the 16th. In response to the dangerous conditions, Clinton County and Clinton City Officials will activate their Extreme Temperature Plan starting at 6am Monday, the 16th, and continuing until 3pm Tuesday, the 17th. We will share the following resources and recommendations.
During the day, individuals needing a place to warm up are welcome at the following warming centers:

Rediscover Recovery Community Center
127 6th Ave S, Clinton, IA 52732
Monday – Friday, 9am to 7pm
Saturday, 11am to 7pm
Sunday, 12pm to 6pm

Victory Center Ministries
505 9th Ave S, Clinton, IA 52732
Monday – Saturday, 9 am – 5 pm
Sunday, 1:30 pm – 5pm

The Clinton MTA is offering free rides during regular hours to the above warming centers.
Clinton County Emergency Management will update their Facebook page periodically with additions to the warming center list.

Those who need assistance due to the cold temperatures may call the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department at 563-242-9211 Option 2
OR for Clinton City residents may call the Clinton Police Department at 563-243-1458 Option 1
OR walk-in at the Clinton County Law Center located at 241 7th Avenue North in Clinton
OR call Camanche Police Department at 563-259-8575

Clinton County Emergency Management recommends that if you have neighbors who are elderly or have medical issues, to check on them periodically to ensure that they can keep warm.
