On April 28, 2026, the Clinton Police Department was contacted by the Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office regarding the location of a deceased individual. Authorities in Rock Island County reported locating a deceased person along the shoreline of the Mississippi River near Cordova, Illinois.
Through the investigation, the deceased individual has been identified as Dermot Bly of Clinton, Iowa. Bly had previously been reported missing to the Clinton Police Department on April 17, 2026.
The investigation remains active. No further information is being released at this time.
