Illinois DOT will be Washing Three Mississippi River Bridges

The Illinois Department of Transportation will be washing three Mississippi River bridges starting Friday in Rock Island, Whiteside and Carroll counties.

Centennial Bridge in Rock Island (U.S. 67)
Gateway Bridge in Fulton (U.S. 30)
Dale Gardner Veterans Memorial Bridge in Savanna (U.S. 52/Illinois 64)
Crews will direct traffic during daytime and nighttime lane closures, according to officials. Illinois DOT expects all work to be done by the end of July.

Officials urge drivers to:

pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in work-zone areas
obey posted speed limits
don’t use mobile devices
be alert for workers and equipment.
