A free outdoor Pops Concert will be performed by the Clinton Symphony Orchestra at 6:30, Sunday, June 7 in the music shell at Clinton’s Riverview Park. The annual event closes the orchestra’s 72nd season of concerts.
Conductor Silas Nathaniel Huff has programmed music from movies, waltzes by Johann Strauss, annd marches by John Phillip Sousa, and novelties for the 50 musicians of the orchestra.
The free concert is in appreciation for the public’s support of the orchestra this year, and for the past 72 years, according to Executive Director Robert Whipple. Concert-goes are encouraged to bring a chair, maybe a picnic, and the entire family and friends. The Felix Adler Children’s Discovery Center will have activities available in the park from 5:30.
In case of rain, the concert will be performed at Clinton Middle School.
