September 21, 2026 – The Whiteside County Health Department (WCHD) invites the community to join in celebrating two important milestones: 60 years of Public Health in Whiteside County and 20 years of providing care through its Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) Clinic.
WCHD will host its 60/20 Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Whiteside County Health Department in Rock Falls.
Established in 1966, the Whiteside County Health Department has spent six decades working to protect, improve and support local public health. In 2006, the Health Department expanded its services and mission by opening a Federally Qualified Health Center Clinic to provide health care to area residents.
The theme of the celebration is “Honoring Our Past, Celebrating Our Present, and Building a Healthier Future.” The family-friendly event will include:
● Touch-A-Truck, featuring local emergency vehicles, school vehicles, and vehicles from area businesses
● Local food trucks
● Culver’s Scoops ice cream treats
● Interactive activity booths highlighting the programs and services of WCHD
● A look back at the Health Department’s history and its six decades of service
